Let’s light up the night

Under the autumn sky, when the full moon shines brightly, the Mid-Autumn Festival returns like a timeless promise of childhood. It is the glow of lanterns, the vibrant drumbeats of lion dances, and the sweet taste of mooncakes that bring back joyful memories of reunion.

This year, St. Nicholas School proudly presents a special celebration titled “Glowing Moon – Let’s light up the night”. More than just a cultural event, the program creates a vibrant space where students can unleash their creativity through lantern-making and mooncake workshops, while also enjoying colorful lion dance performances. All will come together to create a radiant, warm, and unforgettable Mid-Autumn Festival at the School’s new campus.

Time & Venue

• Date: Monday, October 6, 2025
• Venue: Lot A2-15, Zone E, Tran Nam Trung Street, Hoa Xuan Ward, Da Nang City

Participants

• All students from Kindergarten to Grade 12
• Homeroom teachers, subject teachers, and the School’s staff and support teams

Dress code: Students are encouraged to wear traditional costumes (such as Ao Dai, Hanbok, or outfits inspired by Moon Festival characters like Ms. Hang, Uncle Cuoi, the Jade Rabbit, or lanterns). In case special costumes are not available, students are required to wear the SNS Type A uniform.

Main Activities

3.1 For Kindergarten

For our Kindergarten students, Mid-Autumn Festival at St. Nicholas will open a magical childhood world. The little ones will step into a fairytale atmosphere with Ms. Hang and Uncle Cuoi, and craft their own colorful lanterns. The lively lion drumbeats, the festive feast, and the lantern parade will bring a day full of joy – where play, discovery, and love for tradition are nurtured within the warmth of the School community.

3.2 For Primary & Secondary Students

For Primary and Secondary students, the Mid-Autumn Festival at St. Nicholas is more than lantern parades or festive feasts. It is a chance to discover and experience cultural traditions through creative activities. Students will join the mooncake-making workshop, becoming little “Master Chefs” as they knead, mold, and decorate their own festive cakes. The lively atmosphere will continue with interactive games and a spectacular lion dance. Every moment will be an opportunity to connect, showcase creativity, and build lasting memories on their journey at St. Nicholas.

From the excitement of Kindergarten students making lanterns to the creativity of older students crafting mooncakes, all will unite in the vibrant colors of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Glowing Moon is not only a celebration, but also a chance for our community to cherish childhood memories, embrace cultural pride, and light up dreams under the glow of reunion.
